Having a fondness for looking into the distance along the forest edge, this simple act has become part of my everyday. With forms ever changing and morphing in the light. Enchanting moments often happen along the forest edge. I have learned to spend some time letting my eyes settle in on the lines and forms to decipher the experience that my eyes are looking upon.
A sightline for reference, I find myself often looking to this line when scanning for wildlife of which I have observed many including a mother black bear with her two young playful cubs. The deer often begin grazing along the forest edge slowly moving inward if all is quiet on the field. I imagine the wolves and coyotes are often looking out from the forest edge not unlike now I stand at the edge of the land by the field peering into the distance, I like how we all share the land together.
ALONG THE FOREST EDGE is part of nine works for a solo exhibition in May at the K’Okay Cafe in Warkworth Ontario.
